I was planning to do this for a week now, but since Mashable yoinked it, i guess it doesn’t matter so i might as well just publish it anyways. Mainstream media wants to censor me, send help.
Today, we’re ranking smartphone camera bumps through the years, starting from the lvl 1 crook bumps, all the way up to lvl 99 chad protrusions
#8 – Google Pixel, late 2016
To be honest i don’t know if this counts as a camera bump, but the back top third of the first-gen Pixel rises about half a millimeter from the metal body. But i put it here just so it’s out there, i guess

#7 – Galaxy S10 series, early 2019
Look, I’m cool with these. At least the bump is horizontal wide, and doesn’t allow the phone to rock back and forth on a table.

#6 – Redmi Note 7 Pro, March 2019
Not a first for the chinese company, but “inspiring” their designs on the latest iPhone has always been their thing.

#15 – Burger King foot lettuce
The last thing you’d want in your Burger King burger is someone’s foot fungus, But as it turns out, that might be what you get.

#5 iPhone X, late 2017
This hecking piece of bread, i swear. From the notch to the small bezels and the cam bump shape. Every. Single. OEM. Has been copying this design since it came out. Can we get anything else? I’m asking manufacturers to Think Different™. I’m tired of this. I want to jump from the top of Apple’s worth down to Essential’s phone sales.

#4 – Nexus 5X and 6P, late 2015
The last line of Nexus phones was a much needed fix to the trainwreck that the $600 Nexus 6 meant for Google, but they also brought 2 camera bumps bigger than any previous Google collab.

#3 – Moto G5s Plus, August 2017
Not gonna lie, the 5th generation of Moto G was a mess regarding the camera. Moto introduced the pizza-sized camera bump and haven’t pulled back since, also using it in the C, E, X, and Z lines. Literal waste of space.

#2 – Xiaomi Mi A2, mid-2018
While this mf is a sleek looking budget phone from the front, the 2 mm camera protrusion on its back might be a reason for the cool kids to not include you in their group.

#1 – Nokia Lumia 1020, mid-2013
Just take a look at the absolute unit that took the first place, i wouldn’t mess with it if i were you. This 41-MegaPixel beast of a bump has a thickness of almost 3.5 mm.
